I've been looking for a 45ACP revolver for some time now and the price of a used S&W 625 at over $800 kinda turns me off, even though it would be my first choice if still produced. I see that the Blackhawk is available in a convertible version at a little over $600 for a brand new firearm.

Any one have experience with a newer Blackhawk? Likes / dislikes, etc? Where are they manufactured?

Thanks for your opinions.

You can't go wrong with a Ruger convertible. It's a very versatile gun being able to shoot both calibers. They are 100% made in the USA.

You can get them in either barrel length....

It is fun shooting with the ACP cylinder, but if you reload your own ammo, you can really bring these guns to life with the .45 colt cylinder. They are indeed made in the USA. We have a warranty service center in Quebec if needed.
I've had rugers for years & you would be hard pressed to find a better gun...

mine shot away low and to the right - the front sight was far too high-it smartened right up after i took 1/8 th of an inch off it- and that was using 231 on both cylinders as well as 230 and 250 grain loads- other than being a single action and damned slow to reload- which is the same for any s/a

Took a long, hard look at that .45 Bisley convertible which was in EE last couple weeks, but couldn't justify spending the coin.

Ruger BH's are built like tanks, you can't go wrong.
