I am in the process of shortening a 3screw Blackhawk and will need to address the front sight.

I want to use a gold bead setup.
Examples, suggestions for a front sight base and sight blade(s) that I can get in Canada or obtain from the US without issue is what I'm looking for.

Something smooth edged and nice looking.
I want a partridge type blade with gold bead.....and not anything as sharp and shaggy as a fishing lure either! Lol
And no fibre optics......fragile and way out of character for this fine ole girl.

Thanks. Pics if you have something would be great.

Once upon a time I shortened an old Super Blackhawk and had to make the front sight quite a bit higher. I torch welded steel to the sight and refiled it to original profile just about 3/16" higher. You could do the same and then finish with a spot of brass where you want it. I have never found gold beads to be any advantage at all, a good crisp black front sight, and a 6 o'clock hold I found was the best even for silhouette out to 200 mtrs. But to each his own.
