Although you don't say so, I expect your BH is chambered for the .45 Colt. I prefer heavier bullets myself, put I think you should be able to drive a 230 around 1400 or so, depending on your barrel length. Start at 10 grs and work up in half grain increments until you encounter sticky extraction. If you can, shoot over a chronograph and keep records of your observations. At the point that you observe sticky extraction, reduce your load 1 full grain, and consider that your maximum working load. This will allow for the differences in volume of different brands of brass, and even the normal tolerances encountered within brands, and different for the normal weight tolerances of jacketed bullets. Should you still encounter the odd load that sticks, sort your bullets by weight, and separate those which are significantly heavier than the advertised weight, so you can load them with lighter powder charges.
