A coworker of mine recently acquired 2 Ruger Blachawks in 357 from his recently passed father. They are supposedly from the mid 60's, and both still new in the box, with all orig paperwork. I know nothing about handguns, so can anyone give me a rough estimate on rarity and value for me to pass along to him? Thanks for any help.

You will need to get the serial numbers for them then go look them up on rugers database as it will tell you when they were made.
If they are 3 screw models there will be three screws in the frame versus the New model Blackhawk which uses two pins.
The 3 screw models are rarer and built without the transfer bars found in the new models but they come up from time to time in the $500-600 range.
New model blackhawks are common and sell for $400-500.
Here is a good read for you
