RUGER Butler Creek 25's Mags, Did they just get hit by the 10 round mag limit?

Someone at the RCMP really has it out for the 10/22 and this "Charger-pistol" business.

As mentioned the "pistol" is discontinued and it was clearly a 10/22 rifle with very short barrel; can we please get some common sense back now?

That is extremely disappointing, especially since the packaging doesn't state anything about handguns, just the .22 rifle.

I hope you're successful in court, that seems like an absolutely ridiculous law in the first place. The package indicates rifles only, and you can purchase 110-round drum mags for the same rifle perfectly legally.

If you ARE successful, hopefully that sets a precedent for the rest of us. The more I learn about the "gray" areas of Canadian gun laws, the less sense it makes.

that's the whole problem, there almost all grey

Thanks to idiot resalers, who are asking stupid questions. They are digging and digging and irritate government bureaucrats with stupid questions. So here we go.

WhY don't they do it? I remember one idiot asking stupid questions about Swiss Arms, now Green Special is prohibited. All these stupid initiations.
Active IDIOTS.

You want answers black and white from a government bureaucrat? Ask more, #### it up for all of us. I don't mind gray areas. Nobody ever checked size of my magazine for 10/22. And no one I know and no one my friends know. But now I am a criminal. Thanks a lot, active idiots.

I will never buy anything from P..... R.... again, and I don't give a damn if they sponsor this side. They are cutting the branch they are sitting on.

Perfect, that's what I thought.

Thanks,

RF

Was a local gun shop that interpret the bulletin that says BX25 and assume it meant ALL 10/22 mags. Took it on their self to get the whole stock they had pinned, also charging 10$ more for pinned mags then any other shop in the area. So gun shops don't always have the right info.

Because I just went to a couple and all are selling BC 25 steel and hot lips still @ 25rds.

Ya but is a LEO going to be able to see that, or is some poor sap going to jail and spend his family's life savings on lawyers just for a clip that may or may not be prohibited. I guess we just keep using them until that point. just really have to watch the rcmp at the range, they seem to really watch the sks for how many are coming out. NOt fake this came about last November

The bulletin refers to the Ruger BX-25 mag that was "Designed" for use in the charger pistol as well as the rifles. The Butler Creek mag is designed only for the rifles so they are good to go for 25 rounds.

Maximum Permitted Magazine Capacity
Special Bulletin for Businesses No. 72
1. Magazines designed or manufactured for both rimfire calibre rifles and handguns

Magazines designed to contain rimfire cartridges and designed or manufactured for use in a rifle do not have a regulated capacity. However, magazines designed to contain rimfire cartridges and designed or manufactured for use in a semiautomatic handgun are limited to 10 cartridges. Magazines designed or manufactured for use in both rifles and semiautomatic handguns are subject to the handgun limit of 10 cartridges.

Example:
Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 rifle and 15-22P pistol chambered for 22LR caliber:
•the 10 round magazine is unregulated
•the 25 round magazine is a prohibited device

Example 2*: The Ruger BX-25 magazine, chambered for 22 LR calibre, is designed and manufactured for use in the Ruger SR22 rifle, the 10/22 family of rifles/carbines and the 22 Charger handgun. As a result, this magazine is a prohibited device unless modified so its capacity is 10 cartridges or less. (*This information was not included in the original version of this bulletin, but was added on 2013-09-05.)

Oh man, you have to be talking about army navy.

I stop in there sometimes when I'm in Hali, place always seems to be full of individuals with a certain smack-head-esque vibe about them, oh wait thats the staff :p
