Ruger BX 10/22 Trigger - Worth it?

I didn't say you cant dryfire. I do it all the time as well. Just stated that Kidd recommends not dry firing their trigger packs outside of the gun or they can be permanently damaged. You can do whatever youd like with ur equiptment. I was only trying to prevent someone from possibly damaging a fine piece of equiptment. I only have six custom 10-22 platform guns with four having Kidd triggers. Two single stage. Two 2 stage. I can afford to replace them as well just don't want to damage them if I can prevent it. I didn't mean to hit a nerve[/QUOTE

I had a similar thought however I didn't think the OP meant that it was being dry fired out of the rifle.

It’s pretty typical of anything Ruger sells. Make it cheap and pay for it again with aftermarket parts.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Ruger’s but some of their products should already be a factory item like every 10/22 should just come with a BX trigger.

I think that 90% of the buyers of the 10/22 are "plinkers' & sre satisfied with the stock trigger. It is only people such as ourselves who aspire to greater accuracy that want better triggers.

Ruger choose to satisfy the majority of their potential buyers & in order to keep their pricing competitive they offer only the mundane stock trigger.

Lots of trigger packs (in general, not just 10/22) can be damaged if fired outside the gun - under normal operation the hammer is stopped by the chamber face, case rim, etc not any part of the trigger pack. There is a lot of energy stored in the hammer spring when cocked, and most trigger packs simply aren't designed to deal it independently from the gun.

I think the BX trigger is what the 10/22 should of had in the first place.
Having said I also had one done by Brimstone and it breaks crisp with hardly any takeup, short reset and minimum over travel @ 1.5 lbs. That's my target trigger and I keep the original BX for hunting.
