I know that the normal bx -25 magazines are prohibited since they were marketed for the charger, but i saw that one of the dealers on this site is selling the bx-25-2 (basically 2 bx-25s that are permanently connected and not marketed as being made for the pistol). Is there any ruling from the rcmp on the legality of them?

They are not prohibited as they are a completely different magazine from the ill fated BX25, they are for 10/22 & variant RIFLES only!

No issues with the BX50...Interesting side note is that the Charger pistol is no longer made and the BX25 is now being marketed only for the rifle. Seems some stores in Canada have been bringing in the BX25's and selling them (not pinned). I wonder how this will play out in the long run...

Ummm....is this basically saying ANY brand and model of 22LR magazine which fits a 10/22 rifle is to be considered prohibited if not pinned to 10 rounds? I found it interesting that the BX25 is mentioned, but the tone of this document suggests to me that cops would call ANY 10/22 compatible mag bigger than 10 rounds a prohib device. Please tell me I'm wrong about this...

Magazines designed to contain rimfire cartridges and designed or manufactured for use in a rifle do not have a regulated capacity.

Read and understand the thing.

Hmm, Ruger doesn't even list this BX-25-2 magazine on their site, but Cabelas.com does. The Cabela's description includes the Charger handgun.

Brownells sent me two Bx-25's before I heard they were prohibited. I returned them to avoid the BS, but I'm sure they'll send more. CBSA had no issues with them either. Said right on the box what they were......

I understand that, unless they got the description directly from Ruger.

Here's an interesting picture of some packaging...

That packaging might matter... but I see hical has "BX50" magazines in stock. Are they different from the one pictured? And if so, why can we not bring in "different" BX25s that comply?

Butler creek makes a good reliable loader. It works great in their 25 rd. mags & in ruger factory mags. I would think it would work well with these also.

No, but Ruger does refer to them in some product descriptions stating that some rifles are compatible with the new BX25-2 magazine.
