I spoke to someone at Ruger yesterday and apparently these will be available in Canada in around three weeks from now.

Not sure how much better they will be than the 25 round Butler Creek mags though... I will probably buy a couple anyways to see for myself.

You really want to hope that they are not advertised as being suitable for use in the Charger.

There, I fixed it for them. Think they will keep it that way?

I'm ashamed that so many places in my country are liberal weenie infested. Especially my home state of Ohio.

Lookout posting that on here. I did in a different thread and a few ppl flew off the handle. That said It would be nice if it came here as is and unpinned

Anyone think to provide feedback to Ruger on that? I think I might try, since I like having a 25 shot magazine for my 10/22 ( shooting is fun, reloading is boring. :D )

I got hold of their importer today and they didn't have a good answer on the Charger issue, but apparently they have a small batch arriving to Canada in a few weeks.

My hope is that since Ruger modified the SR-22 to allow export into Canada (no flash hider, initially non-collapsible stock) that they value the Canadian market. Hopefully they are up on our nonsensical gun laws and can make them legal here.

I spoke recently to one od the Ruger distributors about the issue of the Ruger manufactured mag possibly being prohibited because of the Charger pistol and mag limits for pistols. The firearms center advised the mags are legal in the rifle but would be prohibited if placed in the Charger pistol. We have a bunch on order. Phil.

That flies in the face of how they handled the S&W mags after S&W advertised them as the same mags as for the 'pistol' version of their AR clone.

My strong suspicion is that we will be looking at a replay of the actions that were taken, declaring the higher capacity S&W mags prohib devices, until they are pinned.
I'd like to be wrong on this one! But I ain't gonna hold my breath.

Unless Ruger makes a different SKU for the Charger, we get what we got. "Course, we may be able to fuss this up the chain to our new Government...:)

Got a target price on these? I want to try at least one or two anyways.

Cheers

The Fed's can't seem to make up their minds on this .22 rifle/pistol magazine cap thing. They have dug themselves a hole and are now trying to get out. We expect the mags to be in the price range of the Butler Creek mags. Phil.

Sounds pretty reasonable then.

I figure I can gut the mags and make an aluminum body for the parts, if the clownshow decides that I can't be trusted with them, rather than pin the bodies.
Hmmmm.....Maybe a product idea there.

Then they won't be prohib items, eh. :nest:
Foolishness.

Funny thing about digging holes. Sometimes the best thing to do is the easiest, just fill it back in. It would take a single memo, rescinding the decision, and the S&W mags would no longer be baby-kitten-seal-whatever killing threats to civilization in their unpinned form.

Ouch hopefully that Charger issue won't happen or 10/22 Ruger owners will be up s**t creek.

No , that would only happen to the ruger mags. The BC,ramline, tac inc etc..... are not marketed for the charger and those mags would be fine . If another company made mags for the S&W they would be fine as well . It is a problem when the mags are made/marketed for rifles and pistols.
