BX-25 Mag Banned
This is what I got from Ruger on this just now:
Hello,
Can you please re-word the description of your BX-25 magazine.
Because of the fact that you added the wording "fits in the Charger Pistol" in the product description, we cannot import it into Canada.
If you could please remove the word "Charger Pistol" you could double your sales. Everyone knows it fits the charger pistol without having to state it.
The same is true for the .556/223 stamped on your barrels. Just stamp it as "wild chamber" and it can be imported.
Thanks,
Response:
According to a bulletin from the RCMP dated March 23, 2011, magazines designed or manufactured for use in both rifles and semiautomatic handguns are subject to the handgun limit of 10 cartridges. Since the Ruger Charger pistols use the same magazines as the Ruger 10-22 rifles, the Ruger magazines are subject to the handgun limit of 10 cartridges. This may change in the future if the RCMP decides to modify its ruling.
