hey guys, I managed to pick up one BX drop in trigger for my 10/22 compact. I seriously recommend it!

My 10/22 compact was one of my first guns. For $300 it's a great value. I have always loved it and plan on keeping it until the barrel is shot out lol.
However; for the last year or so, I have been shooting it less. I guess after shooting many other guns, I started noticing how much I really didn't like the way the stock trigger felt. clunky.

Still for a $300 rifle = good value. The consensus is that Ruger 10/22s are accurate and reliable too, so it has that going for them.

But for $150 or so, the Ruger BX trigger changed my gun completely! it's a very light trigger and with a short, audible reset.
It looks like the factory trigger group... but it's not. It's not.

It's really enjoyable to shoot. With reliable ammo, it makes it easy to shoot rapid and accurately too.

I also think of it as an investment. If my 10/22 compact gets "retired" or if I buy another of their cool models, I can just drop in this trigger group, since it fits them all.

I've been wondering about these...

Three yes' in a row is good enough for me. Will be ordering one.
I'm a cheap a$$, who's got the best price?

What annoys me about the BX trigger is that Ruger sells rifles with known poor triggers that they have to sell a 'tuned' model. Should all new rifles not come with this? Seems like the biggest scam marketing ever when you consider the new trigger is about 40% the cost of a brand new rifle.

I rather spend 80$ on VQ parts and do the trigger job myself..

The VLEH supposedly comes with a better trigger.... and even that was horrible and I had to fix it...

But the money ruger wants for that is insane.

thats how ruger deals with everything. why have they not added a polymer bolt buffer or the auto bolt release.

These BX triggers are a rip off marketing ploy. The rifles should come from the factory with a quality trigger from the get go.
Long gone are the days of quality manufacturing I guess.

Save your money and buy a KIDD.You'll be glad you did.

I stoned my trigger & sear, great improvement but I ordered new VQ trigger & sear, extractor, bolt release. It is a shame that Ruger does not move a head with it's known weak points. That said, there are lots of people that find every thing OK and just shoot it. These people would not pay the extra to have the gun done up as it should be.

Or $136 (CDN) on a Brimstone Tier 1 trigger job with all-new parts and precision tuning. Mine should be coming back to me any day now...can't wait.

I consulted with David years ago and we came up with the Canadian Special... we have sent hundreds of Ruger trigger groups down over the years... he does a great job.

David is a nice guy, but sadly he told me they don't do the $99 Canadian special anymore. The Tier1 job at $110 USD is still a good value compared to the Ruger BX trigger that is being discussed here. I'd love to try it next to a Kidd or Timney trigger to compare.
