Ruger BX trigger for 10/22

true. forgot about that. the biggest thing though is polishing and the springs. just polishing alone improves the feel by 100%. even if the pull weight is similar its a much more consistant break and it doesnt feel rough anymore.

Thought I'd chime in here.... took a venture the other day to go to Cabela's with the main intent of trying out the BX Trigger... I took my trigger pull scale with me and tried them out. Well....... was I IMPRESSED! Average break point was 2.25lbs. I bought three.... I've done a lot of trigger jobs on 10/22's and by that I mean polishing, filing and spring finessing ... not just dropping in parts to get to these trigger pull numbers. For $129 a piece it's worth the coin in my books considering how much time it takes to get factory triggers moderatly close to these numbers. I mean, one take down screw, two pins, swap bolt releases (if you've done the auto bolt release mod) and you're in business. Maybe 4 minutes to do it and you are in the low 2.25lbs trigger pull territory. Of all the triggers I pull tested on the shelf, not one was above 2.7lbs.

The Ruger BX Trigger gets two thumbs up from me because anyone can do this upgrade, not everyone feels comfortable messing with triggers/sears and springs; so that's why I'd recommend this upgrade to most Ruger rimfire enthusiasts.

I purchased a BX Trigger and installed it in my Magnum Research. LOVE IT. Best bang for your buck hands down. I have a Volquartsen, and cannot tell the difference between the two when pulling them.

What annoys me about the BX trigger is that Ruger sells rifles with known poor triggers that they have to sell a 'tuned' model. Should all new rifles not come with this? Seems like the biggest scam marketing ever when you consider the new trigger is about 40% the cost of a brand new rifle.

Meh, it's their right to charge separately for a better trigger. They could sell all their rifles with the upgraded trigger, but then the rifles would just be that much more money. I think it's better to sell with the cheaper triggers for the average joe blow who wants to go out and pop a few gophers, and let the more serious guys purchase the upgraded trigger separately.

How is this different from buying, say, a base model VW Golf vs. the 'tuned' GTI model? A BMW 328 vs. a 'tuned' 335 ... about 40% cost.

The 10/22 is the Honda Civic of rimfires: not the greatest out of the box, yet affordable, and with so much aftermarket support they can be tuned and modified to just about any preference or aesthetic.
As such, I am a 10/22 fan and tweak mine with Power Custom hammer and sear kits for about 1/2 the price of the factory BX drop-in trigger.

If the 10/22 was 40% more expensive for (only) a better-out-of-the-box trigger, I'd probably be a CZ 512 owner instead!
