Ruger chambering the 9.3x62 for 2011

Finally a reason to buy a Ruger! :D

What a great intermediate range thumper.

Ruger definately seems to offer the best "interesting" calibers. They seem to be well made too. I just wish they fit me better.

Just curious where this info is coming from???? Does anyone have a link to a press release? I checked the Ruger site and didn't find anything.

Ooh...the Alaskan would be some nice. As though I needed another 9.3x62.

Everyone needs another 9.3x62.:)
I've got 2 already, so why not a 3rd.

I've been toying with the idea of picking up the African .338win and cutting it back to 20", maybe now I'll wait to see if this 9.3x62 happens.

I came close to buying an Alaskan with the intention of replacing the stock with a McMillan. I ended up getting the African Adventure .375 instead, and don't regret it.

As long as Ruger does not cheap out and put an awfull flat sandblasted bluing on it, thats awful! I would like a nice high quality walnut stock ,high gloss bluing and no plastic parts, then it would be worth buying, just my 2 cents! Dale Z

Excellent news! Now dies and brass will be a little more available. I was at Montana Rifle Co near Kalispell this summer and pondering one in 9.3x62. Bullet selection is great and and more reliable than 277 and 308 as the demand is not quite as high so stock is always in.

Too bad it is a model 77 though. Swore off them after half a dozen going through my hands. However, Clay did flash a #1 in 9.3x74R in front of me and by the time I went to leave to drive home, it was a stowaway in the backseat. Told my wife I had to keep it.
