Ruger Charger Barrel Question

I have a Ruger Charger, for those not familiar with it, it is a restricted pistol version of the 10/22 carbine.

My question is: If I have too much time and/or money, could I buy a 10/22 barrel and have a gunsmith shorten it for a different barrel option? Obviously the barrel must be more than 4 1/4 inches, but other than that ?

Is it too simple, or am I missing something?

I know the Charger is a restricted gun but i still think you cant cut down a factory barel.I believe a gunsmith could cut you one from a blank.

It is a handgun so you can cut it,if you put the cut barrel on a rifle you will make it prohib.
