ive seen lots of chargers with the archangel conversion kit with 50rd drum mags. if the ruger charger is restricted why are these 50rd mags on them isnt there a restriction on capacity for restricted guns, like 10rds?

OP, this has been covered 15-20 times. This week.

Mag capacities are determined by what gun the mag is designed for, not what it is used in. The mag is designed for the 10/22 rifle and has no capacity limit as a result. The fact that they also fit and function in the Charger is immaterial, as they are rifle mags.

Mr Ruger .... Here Is The Bottom Line.

50 Round Drum Mag on Charger - BAD :(
25 Round Banana Mag on Charger - BAD :(
10 Round Box Mag on Charger - GOOD :D

50 Round Drum Mag on 10/22 Rifle - GOOD :D
25 Round Banana Mag on 10/22 Rifle - GOOD :D
10 Round Box Mag on 10/22 Rifle - GOOD :D

WRONG

100000 round drum mag on Charger ORIGINALLY DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED for 10/22 = GOOD

11 round drum mag on Charger ORIGINALLY DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED for Ruger Charger = BAD BAD BAD.

Doesn't make sense - but it's the law.

Ruger advertises their 25 round magazine, BX-25, as being suitable for use in either the Charger or the 10/22.
That would make it a pistol magazine.
If there is a mention of the magazine being usable in a handgun, its doomed.
As long as the mfr. only mentions rifle use, its capacity is irrelevant.

anyone know the outcome of the guy in one of the other ruger/bx-25 threads that ordered some (bx-25's)? I can't seem to find that thread and my search-foo isn't turning anything up.

More questions

sorry about this i know this seems to be touchy topic. i understand the whole if its made for the rifle and just happens to fit the pistol fine, but do you need a 5rd restricter? for eample you can get a ak-47 or something like it and buy a 30 rd mag in the states and put it on the ak and it will fit, but that is illegal without the 5rd stop/restricter thing, right? therefore even if the 50rd fits the charger can you legally have 50rds in it? also if so what other guns are there out there the circumvent this 10rd restricted rule?
thanks again guys
