ruger charger

Agreed! As most know I have a court date in Feb to decide if my three bx25x2 mags being held by cbsa should be prohibited.

Most know that your snivelling (whining when you knew full well that the mags you attempted to import were prohibited) is attracting unwanted attention on a subject that other Canadian shooters have the common sense to leave well enough alone.

Don't get me wrong - I'm happy for you (if not a bit jealous).

However I stand my my statement that by reintroducing the Charger, the gun will get renewed attention by the RCMP who will be forced to decide to either prohibit higher capacity magazines for ALL 10/22-based firearms, or else prohibit the pistol since it might be easier than trying to reign in millions of high cap magazines.

I just signed a petition at my LGS on Saturday to eliminate the stupid magazine restrictions. Let's hope that gains some traction.

I disagree... the new Chargers will not make it to Canada if they are sold with the 15 round mags... if they market the Canadian versions with the standard 10 round 10/22 mags, then there is no issue or spotlight being placed on the magazine capacity... the pistol itself is not an issue, thousands of Chargers are being shot by Canadian shooters already. I signed the same petitions... but don't expect it to have any impact.

That was a very rational response - I'd have to agree with most of what you said. I just hope you're right (not about petitions, though).

Sir, I am unaware of any such activity or operation... nor would I be disposed to discuss such an operation if it did in fact exist, sir.

For those who like them, all the power to you, but personally never saw the point of them.

If you want a pistol to shoot there are lots out there.
If you want a rifle to shoot, there are lots of options.

It certainly illustrates the ridiculousness of the classification system we are dealing with.

This has got to be one of the most useless guns ever made, too big to be a pistol and too small to be a rifle. And the fact that it's restricted here makes it even less appealing. Even if it was NR, I can't think of a single thing where this would be handy to have..

I would like one...

1st, to 'legally' build one of these (range toy only)

2nd... to show my MP the non-sense of our gun laws...

I don't think their are more then a 1000 1st Gen Chargers that ever made it into Canada ! actually I think the number would be way less. They were only made for a couple of years ( I think starting 2007) before Ruger discontinued them. Due to technical features, such as the magazine being outside the pistol grip, the Charger is not legally available in a lot of U.S. states. That's why we as Canadians got the overflow. Over the last few years tho they have become a bit of a cult following thing and so after much pressure Ruger has decided to run the Gen 2 versions of the Charger. I am pretty confident that we will not see any come across our border tho .

nobody likes the charger but a lot of people want to build one at a higher cost why not just get one already done from ruger and save $$$$$

Yes they are attention whores when I bring it out !! .......a lot of people ask about them then state they don't understand or really like them.......then 5 minutes later ask me if its for sale ?....LOL.
