Not really...

I am known to be a Ruger fan, but not of the .44 carbines. I have owned two Deerfield's and two tube feeds... I kept buying them because they seem like such a good idea. In reality, my experience is that, while cool, the function is not so good... yes, they cycle rounds, but the mags are restrictive, the actions are "clacky" and the accuracy is relatively poor. Overall, I vastly prefer the 77/44 despite having the same magazine
OAL limitations, at least it is tight and quite accurate.

Not trying to kick anyone's baby here, just my opinion.

I'm with hoytcanon. An M94 beats a Ruger 44 because it carries better and the stock is better. The external hammer is quicker to use than the safety, too.

Ruger is making a pistol caliber carbine. This would be much more expensive to manufacture, have to sell for a lot more. Akin to having Savage bring back the model 99, neither will happen. Besides these look scary, and will be called a.variant of something. Eventually lever action PC rifles will be western style assault rifles, or some other word salad.

PS. I still want one of course. Just too expensive, which is why I'm whining above.
