Ruger factory muzzle brake

I've got a Ruger MK1 with the longer tapered bull barrel which has what appears to be a factory muzzle brake. Its marked Sturm Ruger and Co ( not sure exactly, I'm away @ work, its at Home). I've looked on-line and in a Ruger bible type book; nothing. Anyone else seen this configuration? Its also got wild aftermarket grips, nice wood wrap-around jobs. They look too nice to be factory, but who knows?

it's probably not factory. very likely it was modified be someone like clark custom guns.

I recall seeing in some 50th anniversary rag put out on the Ruger Standard Auto that some Mk I's came from the factory with a muzzle compensator.

Ruger did offer and make a muzzle brake for the Mark 1. They are not all that common but are considered desirable by some Ruger collectors. Usually the owner takes it off and looses it so they are getting harder to locate.
