I love the look of the full-stock rifle, something about it just incredibly beautiful and timeless. But sometimes the classics do not always do so well in the modern world (horse-drawn wagon travel, careers in iron-mongery, etc). So, what are your opinions on full-stock rimfires, whether on matters of balance, aesthetics, accuracy, etc?

I collected fullstock rifles for many years, both rimfire and centrefire. The best was a Steyr Zephyr 22 in rimfire, the CZ 452 was right up there. Bought a 10-22 fullstock and didn't care too much for it mechanically. Nice looking aesthetically though. Good luck in your search. You'll find what fits best after kissing a few toads.

I have these fullstock 22s

The Ruger 77/22 is a nice solid gun and mine is very accurate. The rest of them are accurate as well especially the krico and the anschutz. The double set triggers are an added nice touch

I learned to "shop in person" if pics aren't provided. Ordered a new stainless/full stock 10/22 a few years back...the inletting around the magwell looks like a beaver chewed it and the recoil pad was very poorly fit. Ruger addressed the situation by sending me a new oversize recoil pad.

grinding recoil pads isn't something I've ever tried, so into the parts box that went.

I’ve had one in the past. It was as accurate as any other off the shelf 10/22 I’ve had. Compared to other fs rifles though, the stock is bulky and poorly fitted. The grip is too big, and the hardware/fitting at the muzzle is cheapish. It’s too bad Ruger didn’t make more of these and spend a couple bucks on metal hardware and quality wood. Could have been a collectors item.

It was a neat thing, looked good as long as you didn't look to closely, but for me, not a keeper.

I love full stocks. Sometimes I like to have my support hand further up the stock to reduce wrist angle / discomfort and FS's are nice for that ergonomically. I've never owned an older one, but IMO they look the nicest (something like the original Steyr Zephyr). The Zephyr II feels like a quality rifle but not a big fan of the lines or design choices / aesthetics. The 10/22 FS is too thick and chuncky IMO... the lines of the stock look great and I think more aesthetically pleasing than the Zephyr II or CZ's, but the execution could be better... has a ton of wood around the receiver and barrel channel, just like a recent Ruger no 1 I had, and could use some slimming down. It's my only 10/22 that gets shot nowadays. Had a CZ 527 FS and stupidly sold it... I don't usually regret selling stuff but wish I hung onto this one. It was slim, lightweight, accurate, and the CZ hogsback stocks just work real well for me with any sights. Wish Anschutz, CZ etc still made FS models.

I really like the look and feel of the Ruger 10/22 Mannlicher, but I'm wondering if the barrel is good enough for throwing in a Kidd bolt and trigger and asking for accuracy from it. Going to peep sights could be interesting too.

I personally like the full stock 10/22. I ended up customizing a compact model with a manlicher stock that was in really bad shape, the forend had to be trimmed a bit to work with the shorter barrel. I added a rear peep sight and globe frontsight. I also carved pockets into the forend to add lead weights so I could get the perfect balance for myself. It’s actually rather heavy for such a short rifle but groups so well.
