Ruger Full-Stock, yea or nay?

I collected a few 10/22 variants at one time. I lucked out on a really nice FS at the gun shop in Dawson Creek. One of the guys took me upstairs and opened two or three boxes. The last one he opened, he turned around and said, “Congratulations sir!”. Someone on here ended up with it.

Buy what you like. You buy to satisfy your desires, not someone else’s. The only FS I have now is a 452 .22. I took it out gopher shooting once, by mistake.

I personally like the full stock 10/22. I ended up customizing a compact model with a manlicher stock that was in really bad shape, the forend had to be trimmed a bit to work with the shorter barrel. I added a rear peep sight and globe frontsight. I also carved pockets into the forend to add lead weights so I could get the perfect balance for myself. It’s actually rather heavy for such a short rifle but groups so well.

This looks amazing, haha! I love the sights they look pretty interesting. But I have to ask, how did all the pitting on the wood occur?

I have these fullstock 22s

Ruger 77/22
Krico
Steyr Zephyr
AnschutzView attachment 745748

The Ruger 77/22 is a nice solid gun and mine is very accurate. The rest of them are accurate as well especially the krico and the anschutz. The double set triggers are an added nice touch

These are great. I like all of them! The Steyr looks a little more unique. But I think I like the Anschutz the most out of these.

Its not pitting. I sprayed it with EZ liner but it was much too cold so it came out really chunky but I liked it. The stock itself had some dents and the finish was not all that good. A friend of mine stripped it and tried staining it but the wood would just not take the stain very well and he is into wood working. I decided to just coat it instead.

Oh that's interesting. I like the finish. Certainly has a unique look to it.

Big fan of the full stock rifles. I also went through a bit of an obsession with them, ended up with the 1022 fs and 455 fs. Have taken them both out to mapleseed events and did much better accuracy wise with the 455 with apertures. The 1022 scratched the itch but the feeling of the bolt and the action on the 455 is so much more satisfying and imo a full stock rifle should have two things: should be a bolt gun and should have iron sights. Something about a semi full stock rifle is kind of contradictory. But buy what you like I’m still looking to add to my slowly growing mannlicher collection. Another one here hoping cz comes out with another fs lineup one day.
