Hello, I just purchaced a used GP100 and the cylinder is binding, I read the manual offered on the Ruger site but it doesn't explain how to remove the cylinder, I would like to take it the ejector rod out so I can examine and clean it properly. anyone done this or know how they come apart ?
Info appreciated.
Thanks, Ron

you can find the manual online on the ruger site.

Just google "GP100 manual"

edit: Oops, just saw you read the manual...

Is it binding when the cylinder is open?

Thanks for the info, I just checked out Brownells site for Ruger revolver special tools and I don't see anything for removing the cylinder,
anyone else had a cylinder off a gp 100 ?
Thanks, Ron

Goto www.ruger.com/Firearms/PDF/InstructionManuals/14.pdf this will get you the manual that will tell how to remove the cylinder from the frame. Then goto www.brownells.com and search "RUGER EJECTOR RETAINER BIT" there should be a picture of what you need to remove the ejector from GP100. If you are looking for complete how to information , you are going to need one of a couple of books the first "FIREARMS ASSEMBLY AND DISASSEMBLY VOL2 REVOLVERS by J.B.WOOD" $24.95 AND /OR "THE RUGER DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVERS ,A SHOP MANUAL by JERRY KUHNHAUSEN" $22.95 at Brownell's, they also might be available at some of the sponsors at the top of the page. I really like the books by WOODS and have picked a couple up at gunshows.
