Does anyone know where to buy Grip inserts for a Ruger GP100. I checked Ajax grips and nothing like what I am looking for. Even if there was someone who could make them at a reasonable price. I found a pic of some nice walnut grip inserts that would be perfect. Anyone able to help?
Thanks

If you're looking to replace the wood inserts in the factory grip yours is currently sporting, I don't know if such a thing exists (or is even possible) as mine is the slightly later model GP100 that came with the Hogue rubber grip (all rubber, no wood panels). As far as replacing the whole grip on the GP100, there's several places that sell many different kinds of grips for it. Only the style of the grip has changed from your model to the later one. The way it is attached, and the shape, is identical.

EDIT: Just came across a site in my searching talking about switching the panels in the grip. That's kinda cool, I didn't know they were separate from the rubber. I have no idea if those panels are readily available to do that or not. A google search of GP100 grips resulted in many places selling whole grips, but I didn't see any panels...

Go to badgercustomgrips.com , I am sure you will like what you see.

I think I was looking on that site the other day. I just checked it out and it looks formilliar. I don't really want the moulded style grips(woor or rubber). I like the profile of the factory grip (old style) but i would like to put a bit fancier wood inserts in it. I saw some on ebay for an sp101 that i though would work on my GP but apparently they are a bit smaller. They looked unbeleivable. I contacted the seller to see if he could make some for my gun but he isn't set up for makeing GP100 grips:(. The inserts on the factory ones aren't bad just thought it would look really nice with a bit fancier.

But if your goal is fancier wood inserts, then why keep the rubber? Would you put nice $2000 chrome rims on your car while using bald, flat and bulging tires?

Hogue makes some supremely nice wood grips. I just don't get the insert bit.

gp100 grip inserts

Hi asphalt599,

Saw your oldish thread here about grip inserts and didn't look like you got any leads so thought I'd put this out there to you or anyone else looking for the same.

I didn't care much for the Houge that came on my 4.2" so bought a regular size grip from Brownells that came with stock inserts and wanted the compact size grip for the missus but it didn't come with inserts.

I was looking all over for compact inserts and found a fella that goes by '41 Magnum' on 'rugerforums' site who makes custom inserts for regular and compact gp100 grips.

He's got a thread with a bunch of pictures of his work.

Super guy to deal with and does great work at a reasonable price.

Here's mine with the two different inserts:

Hope this helps.
