Just saw this on Al Flaherty's website. Does anybody anything about them? Trigger, weight and balance...etc.?

I see its out of stock.
They are a factory modified version of the gp100 and no doubt would be a little lighter and less muzzle weight.
Also the sights would be easier to pick out i havent heard much about it up here but its definitely cool looking.
Im sure It could no doubt use a trigger tune and wolf kit and shoot just as well as my standard gp100.
You would have to do pretty good with it or have thick skin with match champion on your barrel at the shoots i go to.

What dealers have them? Pm if you like.
I am a big fan of the gp100

I read their triggers are fine tuned for a better performance. Very curious to know how they feel. If true, I will be interested.

Have one nice fit and finish. Very nice balance and feel. Trigger has been smoothed out compared to the standard GP 100 which I had but does need a spring kit. I got one from Brownells $10-12 and made a world of difference. Now very smooth and still not picky with ammo. For me it's a keeper.

Epps did have one. Wolverine's website lists it as in stock. I definitely want one of these, it's just a nice looking revolver. Price is nice too, not to much more than a standard SS gp100.

Mine is shipped, can't wait. From all my research, Ruger did a great job for a custom gun built on the production line and not a custom shop. I am sure it can be still improved because everyone is different and has different perceptions and wants. If you like the GP100, I can't see how you would not love the much improved |\match Champion !

I wish Ruger did a version of the full underlug to match the look of the S&W "Classic" line or Colt Python.

It's a personal preference thing, but I really don't like the look of an under that doesn't go all the way to the front. The normal GP100 goes all the way up, I'm not sure why they chopped it on this one like the S&W Canadian Edition 4.2". At least it's not as bad as the Super RedHawks, which look like a nice beefy frame with a pencil thin barrel coming out of them.

Also, the US MSRP is $899, so the asking price of $879 Cdn is pretty solid. http://www.ruger.com/products/gp100MatchChampion/models.html

I have eyeballed the GP100 match 4.2" for quite a while now.
In the spirit of my recent changes in which firearms i buy (trying to have less caliber variety and just more ammo for those i have)
Still looking at smith and wessons 9mm revolver since i already stock and reload for 9. But that match champion has made me double think the possibility of adding a 357 in my calibers, tough choice cant wait to see members reviews on them.

I really love mine. It is worth every penny if you consider GP100 series is your path.
Action is smoother than regular GP but not in the same league with S&W PC gun. The half lug barrel is more balance on GP frame than 6" even 4.25" full lug barrel. The wood grip is very well made and the grip angle is straight up which is very comfortable.
Overall, it was a surprise from Ruger.

Here is mine

These are gorgeous Rugers...I bought one and loved it however I'm not a revolver guy and ended up selling it...It is though the best revolver I've owned...and I've had the Smith's Ruger's etc...

So DA trigger pull is better than GP100 but still not as good as S&W?

I love my GP. It is a bit front heavy but this works well with the recoil. I qualified with a 9mm and quickly pulled out the .357 GP and it shot like a .45. Love love love it. This will be the one firearm I can say without a doubt I will have forever. (as long as its my choice)
