Hey everyone, I just got my RPAL a couple months ago and likewise have been looking to buy my first handgun; a GP100. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any available in Canada at the moment. I placed a back order with Wolverine almost two months ago, however they couldn't get me an ETA, and I'm thinking maybe no one can. Regardless I figured I'd post this anyway just to see if anyone has any idea on when a shipment might be headed up here. Apologies if a similar thread has been posted recently!

That is where i bought mine last year.
Great pistol.... I run mine in steel challenge and when i am "switched on" i can out run my semi.....

The only "but" is if you have ever pulled the trigger on a nice s&w......(drool sounds)

I've had the cash for a new GP 100, looked and looking at all the Sponsors and other Dealers, nothing. All pre-order, we will notify you if/when it comes in, we can recommend an alternative, Ruger back order, don't know when they will be in, all kinds of no's. Oh well, money in the bank then.

Where you are matters.
"...thinking maybe no one can..." Nope. Ruger doesn't care about the Canadian market and neither does any other manufacurer.
Had mine since they first came to Canada, 30 some years ago. Needed a trigger job, but so does every other new firearm. Doing the trigger on a GP is extremely east though. Take out the trigger parts and polish the mating surfaces and clip a 1/4 turn off the mainspring or replace it. Done. All nice big SS internal parts and no special tools required.

Thanks for the replies guys, and to those of you you PMed me, I tried to message you back but I'm not sure if I actually sent the messages, (kind of a noob here, my bad). From what you guys have said it seems like they just kind of show up here and there and then disappear again. The GP I was interested in is the 4.2 stainless version, probably should have mentioned that in the original post. Since I don't know when I will be able to find one I am actually now thinking about getting an M&P 9 instead, although the GP, (or even the SP101 .357), would be my first choice at the moment. From what I've read the M&P is a very good and reliable gun, and has a very low price tag, when compared to other 9mm's.

If you are not strapped for cash, you can more easily find a S&W 686.

I also thought about the 686, however I am kind of set on a Ruger revolver and I don't think I want to spend an extra $250 over what it would cost for the GP100.

I picked up an older 4" production example a while back. While my preference leans towards the likes of an N frame Smith or the Colt Python, nothing shabby about the Ruger.
