I've always been a big fan of Ruger (I own four),but,even I can't get warmed up with the guide gun. My M77 RSI .30-06Sprg with the 18.5" barrel has a powerful swat on the shoulder. I would imagine that without the muzzle brake,the guide gun will kill at both ends.

Ruger is rumored to be building an 11.5 pound version of the Guide gun.
Heavy, short and loud.
It will be introduced at 2021 Shot Show as the Rosie O'Donnell anniversary issue.

Hornady will build the ammo.
They plan on trimming a 500 Nitro Express case to 1.5 inches and necking it down to .35 caliber.

I agree... that recoil pad and buttstock profile is a huge turn-off for me.
