Does anyone know if the front sight can be upgraded on the Ruger Gunsight Scout? I generally prefer iron sights but find the ruger sight to be a bit chunky for reaching out to longer distances 200 yds+. i see you can get and XS rail system with integrate rear sight but i'm more interested in a front sight replacement.

from all my research so far this seems like the only option
That's what I did to mine, filed it down to a point. And I painted it a silver so I can see it as much as possible when hunting and the light is fading.
But I've never given up the idea to make it a bit better. The latest I've been thinking is to maybe have the front blade removed and dove tailed for an existing Marbles Arms replacement front sight in either brass or fiber optic, they come in many many different heights so I'm sure I could find a good height match. It would entail removing the protective front sight wings to machine the dovetail but I think I can live with that if I had a great front sight post.
