Ruger Gunsight Scout Rifle Raven on Stock

Hey, anybody else's Scout rifle come with the Raven on the stock? I was led to believe this was USA only. My south paw one showed up today with this on the stock - cool -

its the gunsite logo sign. its on all ruger gunsite scout rifle.

Interesting,is it the Cdn model( 18 3/4 ) bbl w stainless bbl and action,or a U.S. model ?

Mine has no "Gunsite" markings and the receiver is stamped "Ruger Scout"

The Canadian version has a few differences as I've been lead to believe. Stainless steel barrel, +2 inch barrel length, no flash supressor or barrel threading, and no Gunsite logo. That's what I've heard anyways, haven't seen any in the flesh yet. This upcoming Saturday I should be able to get my hands on mine at the shop and take some pictures.

However, I have heard a few people muttering of buying a GSR, changing to a different stock, and selling the GSR stock. That might be a possibility, but I'm not sure if stocks would be included in the import/export headache. Who knows, maybe the factory missed one.

i've had mine since mid summer 2011... it has no such markings on the stock!

I thought I read somewhere that the reason Gunsight didn't want their logo on the export model is that the gun they helped designed is not the same.

That is my understanding. They designed the u.s. version. The export version is not the same rifle. Close, but not quite.

My righty export GSR has 'Gunsite Scout Rifle' on reciever but no Gunsite Raven. Export southpaws, likely the most rare; maybe they had to dip into the US stash of stocks for yours? Pretty cool, I'm jealous!

So as a bit of a gun noob, should I buy one of these in lefty? I like the look of them, but was sort of thinking of getting a 30-06 xbolt for hunting. These things are soooo cool though.

I believe the US authorities would not allow the export of the gun with the US barrel length, and the flash hider......thus the difference....
Altogether, a nice rifle.....if you had tp pick a gun to get you through snow, mud, sand, and cold weather, this one, in my view, would fill the bill....

You might be right, for the small amount of LH rifles they might not have justified two different runs of stocks (Logo vs. non Logo). LH, stainless, Gunsight Logo - might be a collectors item. Nah, I'm just going to shoot it!

I think having Jeff Coopers Gunsite Logo on it will definitely increase your chances of success immensely
