Hi All,

New member here, in fact fairly new to Canada (from the UK three years ago).

I like the look of the Ruger Gunsight Scout, anyone know where I can get one in Canada (praries) and if they come with the 10 round clip in Canada (I'm guessing that isn't legal?).

Any thoughts on this gun? The use would be for carry around rifle for deer in the woods.

I have a 7mm08 browning x-bolt white gold medallion scoped 2.5 to 10x for main deer use and a BLR 30-06 non scoped at present (I just love iron sights) as a foul weather deer gun and for use up to moose if needed.

Cheers,

Bob

Got mine at prairie gun traders. see link at top of page. Extra mags aren't cheap unless you get the plastic mags from ruger and they are a little more reasonable

Wolverine Supplies has them in stock (banner at top of page) and you will be familiar with a number of the accents there.

Outstanding, I am heading out to Virden Manitoba next week on work, I'll pop into wolverine. Seems like the type of gun you have to hold before buying. Thanks all!

The gun is ok, but when I held it, I went for a carbine rifle with the sporter stock. More balanced for me. Also, for backpacking, unless you get the 5 shot mag, that clip is going to be a pain in the rear. Again, only my opinion.

jo-brooks in brandon has one in stock aswell if you are hitting virden it is not that much further or give them a call

I'm actually in Winnipeg so this is even closer! I definately want to hold one, they look greatbut I really think a 16.5 inch barrel would make more sense. Anyone know why they sent them longer to Canada than the USA type? It cant be Canadian law since I can buy a 16.5 inch ruger carbine standard type model.
