Ruger Hawkeye action weight? *its done!*

The reason I'm asking is that I'm thinking of lightening up my .35 Whelen by using the Bevan King barrel that's on the MKII and spinning it on a Tikka. Same thread size and pitch. Likely would have to touch up the chamber and headspace but I've grown pretty fond of Tikka's smoothness and detachable mags.

I wouldn't mess with a gun that is a known accurate and reliable shooter. Bevan would tell you to stick with the Ruger.

Saying that, the T3 looks like a good idea. Dropping a pound will help.

What about putting a smaller scope on it? A 2.5-8 would be a good choice and save you a few more oz.
