Just wondering what the O.A.L. (magazine length) is with the Ruger for the 350 Rem Mag. I had a Rem M7 CDL and it was 2.80". Is the Ruger longer? I want a 350 RM again just not sure which one yet. It would be nice to load 250's out a bit more .
Thanks.

Yep - the Ruger77 all weather 350RM has a longer box permiting a max COAL of 2.895 (2.885 being more the practical limit IME) in my two specimens on hand (one now rechambered to 350WSM). They were made using the exact same mag box as the WSM chambered rifles Ruger was making briefly. Hence the stretch magazine. Mine and some others I know of wouldn't feed well without some smith attention.
Check out my load tables here and note the COALs given. Sometimes the throat/ogive relation limits COAL - http://35cal.com/loading.html#77
Same gun rechambered - COALs of note here - http://35cal.com/ruger77_350wsm.html

Mine Works

I own a Ruger 77 stainless/synthetic. I have only fired around 25 rounds through it, but it feeds ok.

I was surprised that it had no feeding issues because the bolt is incredibly clunky and use to bind when I first got it, and I dry fired it.

I made up three dummy 350 rounds and cycled them repeatedly through the action to break it in, before I ever fired it. I fully expected it to bind or otherwise fail to feed at the range. But it worked fine.

The recoil of my 350 is savage, however. Honest to God, it is utterly punishing, and I have thought about selling it. I hope you can handle it better than I can.

Sorry you are having such difficulties there.
I use a long eye relief scope and mount it far as is reasonable forward. Some scopes eye bells are too long IMO also. I have the exact same gun as you in both 350RM and in 350WSM (rechambered 350RM). From my350WSM I shoot 250s at 2740 and 225s at 2900 - waaaay more than a stock 350RM M77. I found this Limbsaver #10001 pad went on my M77/350WSM synthetic fairly easily and has helped manage recoil alot. I recommend it. Then roll with the free shoulder massaging.:)
