Ruger Hawkeye Lipsey's Special

Boy, those are nice!

What is the overall length?

That's a pretty nice chuck of stovewood there JB! Would make an awesome coffee table!

:DThat's exactly what I'm in the process of doing! Elk antler sheds will make up the legs.

The overall length is about 38 3/4". Should make an excellent bush gun but I'll have to be extra careful not to ding it up.

Any idea how old that slab of wood might be? very nice also!:D

About 61yrs according to the growth rings. I think this is from a burl. Not to sure what kind of tree exactly. It does smell a lot like cedar. My uncle was a faller in BC for years and brought tons of these, some big enough to make a dining room table out of, back to SK.

Well make sure you post some pics of the completed project with the gun and some targets!!

Again, very nice firearms, looking forward to the range report!

I have now shot two, 3 shot groups at 100yds with the irons. The first group was off the paper and a bit smaller.
This is the second group. Even with my poor shooting skills the rifle shows potential.
This was a mild handload with 139gr Hornady BT, H4350.
