Ruger heavy barrel question.

Anyone here shooting a Ruger laminate stock heavy barrel in .308 for long range? If so, how accurate is it?

I have a Ruger 77/VT in .308

Its one of my most accurate rifles. Great trigger & the beavertail forestock rides well in the bench bag.

Good question, I don't hear much on the Ruger's and have never thought of trying one out. Catthehat has had excellent results with his Ruger #1's that are beautifull as well as tac-drivers. Until seeing Cat's rifles I always thought of Rugers as a hunting rifle that never apealed to me. But you may be on to something.

In CBA benchrest matches where shooters get very samll groups with cast bullets ,308s are quite popular....but almost all are either Rem.700s or Savages!

There seems to be so much more of an "Aftermarket" for the 700's and the Savages. The Ruger Target ones have very smooth actions and nice triggers, and are supposed to shoot good. Never owned one, but have heard good things about them.

troutseeker have one in 25-06. Mounted a scope bore sighted it took it to the range first three rounds touched each other stacked them like a snow man. Set her in for 300 yards and just shoots awaome.
