Ruger in the Gravel Pit

I always chuckle when people refer to Rape Seed as Canola. Rape Seed is the plant, Canola is the patented product name. Canola is an acronym, which means Canadian Oil Low Acid. Canola is one of the prime reasons that Bee populations & Monarch Butterfly populations are on the decline. Canola & Corn are the two biggest GMO products on the planet, and they're killing the planet.

our Farmers need to kick Monsanto out, and start growing healthy farms.

Every plant used in modern agriculture is, to a certain extent, a GMO - but not necessarily through "evil booga-booga man Monsanto". Originally, Canola was bred from rapeseed at the University of Manitoba, Canada by Keith Downey and Baldur R. Stefansson in the early 1970s using traditional cross breeding techiniques.

The "Evil GMO Monsanto Booga-Booga man" variety of Canola wasn't introduced until 1998. "Roundup Ready" and other GMO Canola varieties currently represent 26% of the Canadian harvest.

As for Bee/Monarch decline - yes, some correlation. But the primary cause is not the plants themselves, but the over-use of pesticides, which is a bi-product of GMO plants specifically designed to be resistant to the chemical warfare some farmers think is appropriate.

There is good land management, and bad land management, don't make assumptions about what a given farmer is practising based on environmentalist scare tactics. In my Uncle's case, Canola is a "rotation crop" to rebuild mineral nutrients lost from his primary crop - alfalfa.

Anyhoo...

You'll get pretty spectacular effects from those SHP rounds on pop tins, I'll include a relevant gel test vid below which should show why. Fantastic energy transfer. As for accuracy, yah, that looks like about what I get from my 10/22 carbine with them, which is why I don't use them in it. They're also a little "hot" and I worry about the long term effects on the action.

If you want to try tightening up your groups, give CCI Mini-Mags a try, or Federal HV Match. 1240FPS (rated) for the CCI, and 1200FPS (rated) for the Federals. Both should get your group size down to 1/2" at 25yards, or better. Round nose will be generally more accurate, but don't varmint with them - they tend to pass through without energy transfer, wounding, and leading to a slow, painful death for the critter. CCI Mini Mag Hollow points will widen the group out slightly, but you should still be "minute of gopher/squirrel" at 50yards plus, and they have a better energy transfer leading to a cleaner kill.

Holy smokes, if that's at 25 yards with a scope, you might wanna try some different ammo.

I was only going by what I was told at the range, that this was a 25yrd for hand guns & small caliber. They do have a 100 yard range that I can use as well.. I have to find a time during the week, when there is no one else on it..

I have only had my firearm just over a month.. I have/had maybe 50 pellet & bb guns & rifles. I currently own a Gamo Delta (495), Chinese break barrel (495), Gamo Hornet (1000 / 1200), and a couple of BB pistols. I am quite accurate with hard sites, as well as with scopes. As for grouping, time and a proper rest will help greatly with that.
