Ruger is dropping Left hand Hawkeye

I have two LH Ruger Hawkeyes (my preffered hunting rifles) one in 7-08 the other in 30-06 RCBS IMP.
Recently I sold one in 375/338WM that was to much of a kicker for 62yo.
In a light of recent development I should look for LH Ruger in 223Rem and 338WM for the collection to be complete.
OP, thanks for the warning.

i dont think they have done more than an handful of 338 win mag on LH action and only for special friends ....

I was looking at the Hawkeye line as a possible next rifle but the reviews seem to be really negative on it's accuracy. Any personal experiences to that effect?

What reviews are you talking about? Links? You may be looking at old reviews, before Ruger started hammer-forging their barrels.

Ruger have been making some of the best factory barrels for a long time, and generally have an excellent reputation for accuracy.

In all models the lefties have an MSRP about 100 bucks more than the right hand models.

Most dealers sell for less than the MSRP (900-1200 msrp in the above rifles), often by 5-10%.

There will also be a promotional special if you buy a new Tikka. There will be a package deal (maybe 250-300 bucks more, waiting on the exact details) that will include a Burris 3-9X40 scope (no model mentioned yet), bases, rings, sling, and case.

I will be ordering my "flock of Tikka's" in the next few weeks when things get firmed up and all the availability numbers are solid - so look for them in a gunshop near you soon (probably on-line first) :)

Those are the "available" calibers for regular order.

So yes, if you don't see a caliber listed there your only option would be to see if they have a custom option direct from the mfg (or use an aftermarket service etc).

Some of the mfgs (Weatherby as an example) has a very interactive "custom shop" option. As for Sako/Tikka, there is no mention, at least in the catalog from Stoeger, that any custom services are either offered or available - so just don't know..

In my case, having no vision in my right eye I need to look at single shots or lever action in order to find anything. Years ago I found a LH Ruger M77 mark 11 laminate stainless in 30-06. Last year I picked up a Tkka T3 LH .243. Just lucky to find it so I bought it.
