I met with Ruger at SHOT, and they seem willing to produce an Alaskan with a 4.2 inch barrell in .45 LC

I really like the little guns, but I'd have to see how it looks with barrel extended... I'd love a LCR or something similar too, but they just lose some of the appeal once we make them conform to our stupid laws...

No idea, since these will now be a regular Ruger item, they will be distributed through the Ruger sales network, which means, in Canada, those of us without store front shops will not be allowed to sell them.

OK, I get that in the Pre-Clinton FFL purge, some companies felt they needed to make a special effort to promote store front operations over kitchen table FFL operators.

Nothing to do with Ruger, it has to do with the old-fashioned distributors in this country, who believe the internet is a fad that those crazy kids are up to. Same reason we do not carry any US brands. Inland, Caldwell, Redl, etc will not sell.

Don't get me wrong. I love the idea of a good store front dealer, but as there is exactly one dealer within a 30 minute drive of me, and he doesn't stock reloading components, I tend to use the internet.

Wait a second. The custom LCP's are still a go for you right? It's the Sp101's with a 4.2" that will be a regular item that you cannot get, right?
