Ruger LCP with 4.2" barrel?

Not trying to speak for the dealer or anything, nor do I have any basis to say this, but if you consider how well these are selling, unmodified, down in the States- I wouldn't be one bit surprised if that market will have to slow down a little before they're bending over backwards to tool up just for us. Despite the seeming popularity here in Canada for something like this... our contribution to Ruger LCP sales for the whole country wouldn't begin to touch what they can sell in one medium sized city down there. Add to that the extra effort that goes with unique production and cross border shipping and I'll bet we're waiting another year for sure. Again... just my opinion. I'd love to be wrong and see them next week...:cheers:
 
Thanks goes to Canam for sure, especially considering Ruger isn't even going to really let him profit from his own leg work. That sucks that the distributors here in Canada don't have a calendar to let them know what year it is. Perhaps a telegram is in order.
 
While in Pheonix I had had a chance to shoot a Ruger LCP. I shot about 100 rounds total. What a sweet little gun!!! It is very tiny and narrow. I can see why they choose the 380 for this gun, if they went with a more power full round the recoil would be too much(and I'm used to shooting 44 mag ect). As it turns out, quite a few people in the USA carry the Ruger LCP for CCW as it is so packable.

I definately plan on buying the Canadian version of this gun when it comes out! Great gun!
 
What a stupid thing for a manufacture to have to do to circumvent a stupid law.
Like adding a couple of millimeters on a barrel makes any difference to anything...

You want a stupid law? The other way for pistols to be prohibitted, is to be chambered in the most anemic calibers available, 25 or 32. 25 acp, is widely regarded as being less potent than 22lr. It's the kind of round, that kills you 8 hours later, on the operating table from infection.

I know, I got one. And a prohib luger in 9mm.
 
I had the oppurtunity to handle one of these while at the Knob Creek Machine gun shoot this past weekend in Kentucky. It is a very well thought out little pistol.

I spoke with several people at the event; and yes, they are selling like hotcakes south of the border.

I still really want one. Perhaps CanAm can provide an update as to if and when these will become available for the Canadian market.
 
Well the suggested retail price on Rugers site is $373.00 i do not consider that bad at all. honestly even if it were in the $450 range up here i still say thats not bad when you compare to the prices of the other small pistol options that we have here already in canada. I just hope this acttually happens, I very much want one.

yup. What ever happened to these? I thought they were supposed to be on the market this year?
