ruger lever 44

ive been looking at the ruger .44 lever gun on the net and was wondering what everybody thinks of them. accurate,reliable, worth it? thanx

Expect 4" groups, fast handling, and fairly pleasant to shoot. More recoil than you'd expect, because the rifle is so light, and the semi crescent buttplate bites a bit. Nice brush gun for close range deer/black bear hunting, not a target arm.
Worth it? My wife loves hers.

I have used one in the past but much prefer the semi auto version. The gun is fast and light and really kicks hard for such a small cartridge. If I were going to get a lever I'd go for the winchester trapper, it has a much nicer look and feel compared to the Ruger lever. Otherwise like I said I prefer the semi auto, just as accurate, very reliable and much less recoil.

The stocks look like they were carved from a 2 X 4. Why did Ruger do this ?!?
