Have an older ruger 22-250 with hinge plate and the forestock covers it. Any idea on value. it is an m 77

Is the rifle a Model 77? Should indicate that on the left side of the receiver.
Also, for puposes of value, pictures and accurate descriptions are needed.

Pictures would help. I assume it is wood and blue. Any description of condition? Wood beat up, bluing worn. .22-250 is fairly over bore, any idea of round count? Fair difference in value between a rifle that is LNIB and one that has been sitting behind the tractor seat since the 80's.

Check to see if it's a"Tang Safety" version. Obvious tell is the sliding safety is at the rear of the action, forward of the wrist. Otherwise it may be the 77 Mk ll which will have a swinging 3 position safety on the right side of the action, just above and behind the bolt handle.

it is the full stock model in excellent condition. unfortunately the picture I took did not save on my phone. I tried dating with serial number and had no luck

Those RSI versions are sweet. Often I see them go for 800-1200 depending on condition and caliber. I have 2 friends that have one (.243 and .308) and neither one reports superb accuracy. They have tried everything. I even tried my "accuracy" load in his.308win and I go so-so results. I think they look way better than they actually shoot, but I wouldn't let that stop me from buying one. I think they are among the nicest looking hunting guns a man can carry afield.
