Ruger M-77 7.62x39 availability?

I was wondering if the M77 in this caliber is available in Canada? - Is it restricted for export due to the caliber?

Apparently they have reintroduced the caliber for 2010 in thier Hawkeye, according to an article I read a while back.

A buddy of mine has one of the old ones. Handy little walking around rifle. He shot a beast of a big moose with it. Damned thing barely fits in the house!

Idk if it's worth it, they are probably up there with a CZ527 anyways, but who knows for sure.

now THATS a sweet looking little rifle-but I think I'd take it in .260 rather than 7.62x39 if I was spending that kind of money

The CZ-527 already has iron sights, the Hawkeye does not and the price seems like it would be right up there with a CZ-527, but I heard the Ruger action is stronger if you wanted to mess around with loads for it, I don't know if the magazines are longer than the CZ.

I've had both the Ruger, the CZ 527, and a Zastava, all in 7.62x39. Without a doubt the CZ was the nicest gun. The Ruger, while solid, had a crappy trigger and was built on a .308 length receiver using a mag block. The CZ had a scaled down action, detachable mag, and a single set trigger (even "unset" though it was still way better than the ruger). It was also lighter, shorter, and had iron sights.
