Due to moving to a new province and new hunting regulations I am "forced" to buy a new rifle in a calibre I don't already own (oh dear). I happen to like Ruger M77's and would like one in 22-250 but want a box magazine because I happen to like this feature.

"Why not find a Remington 700 that has a box magazine already?" you say. I don't care for that rifle or its many many offerings.

So it boils down to this, is there anywhere in Canada that sells a bottom metal conversion kit for this application that anyone knows about or has done themselves and isn't astronomically expensive?

I found Pacific Tool and Gauge in the US (super helpful by the way, answered my questions via email and over the phone) who has them but I would need to go through the ITAR process (which I am trying to figure out if it is worth it with currency exchange and taxes).

Any help/info would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

There are lots of guns out there with DMs. Ruger American, T3s, Savage, Browning, 783, etc, etc.

I think that you might have to have a wider list of gun makers in mind or otherwise will be faced with a very expensive (if possible) solution.

There's no ITAR with Pacific as it's under the $500 threshold. I bought one earlier this week for my m77 mkii 308 and I'm still awaiting delivery.

Cheers

When I called they told me there would be, I shall have to confirm because that's a bunch of stuff(and money) I don't want to deal with.

Thanks for the heads up
