heads UP on these bolt action 44 mag, I just sent one back unfired, and a new one on the way. I had one many years
ago on the first 77/44mag and it was barn door accurate, after looking it over real carefuly I noticed the barrel and scope were pointing
in different directions. I got a new replacement from ruger. this is the second time for me. I know the second time shame on me.

Yikes, thats some lemon you got.

With some ammo, mine will cloverleaf at 50m and have an acceptable group of about 2" at 100m.

I love mine dearly. She usually wears a scope, I just dont have any pics of her with her glasses

this is the one from about 6 years ago. see how far out it is.
it make one wonder if ruger sends all there rejects north to Canada.

this is the one I got about 2 weeks ago . I wonder how many more are like that out there.
I think it,s worse when u reload as your brass would be fireformed loppsided and the the next time u fire
the round is realy cocked in the chamber. I never fired this last one but the other one truly was barn
door accurate.

This one is perfect, feeds flawlessly, without the forcing difficulty that Blasted Saber experienced... scope zeroed easily right in the middle of the range. The Nikon 2-7X32mm P-22 scope is set-up with a BDC 150 designed for rimfire (1600 fps)... but as it turns out my light 225 FTX loads work perfectly with the BDC as is... I zeroed at 50 and then tested the 100-125-150 zeros and they were all bang on... in the field, I have no intention of taking shots over 100 yards... but I have many bush runs that I do where shots are mostly 20-50 yards, with 75 yards a possibility in a few locations... this should be ideal for that purpose...

I have a 10/22 that needed the scope base mount holes slotted to get the glass and the barrel facing the same way. Bolt was as rough as a Badgers ass.
Recently I've been reading about the Marlin/Remington QA issues. I've never really bought into the "proudly made in America" thing.

I bought a new 77/44 a few years back and it was a nice performer with no buggaboos. She shot great with cast boolits as well as factory stuff and was a good carry rifle in the bush. I would have kept the wee beasty if it was blued with a nutmeg laminate stock, but oh well...

I have a Ruger 581 Ranch Rifle that is easily 2moa that ejects brass into low earth orbit, a 77/44 that does 2moa with a trigger kit and Hornady Leverevolution 225 grain polymer tipped ammo and a Ruger GSR .308 that is 1moa with Hornady match 168s and almost moa with Federal 150s. The GSR did come with a wonky scout mount that is in the garbage. The factory rings are great though.
