wondering if anyone has on of these little carbines in 44mag i am interested in buying one and am wondering if anyone has anything good orbad to sayabout them? Thanks
The good parts is that it is easy to carry, reasonably accurate (2"@100 yards) and hits hard in a package the same size as most rimfires.
The bad is the trigger as it comes from the factory. Heavy with a lot of creep. A Volquartsen sear makes a real difference. Mine is a little fussy on ammo. Shoots the Hornady Leverevolution very will but not good with Winchster White Box. Shoots heavy bullets very well. My load of choice is a 270 grain Speer soft-point over a max load of H110. It's pushing 1,700fps and shoots well.
I like mine so much it's putting up a serious challenge to my short Remington 870 as my go-to farm gun.
I picked up a walnut/blued one recently, I love it to death, but unfortunately, I've only held it and hugged it, so far. Will get to shooting it one day soon, hopefully!
