Ruger M77 Bolt removal issues....help needed

I removed the bolt of my M77 (1976, two position tang safety) to clean the barrel...no problem, easy, smooth.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the bolt back in....? The safety needs to be in firing mode....but the back end bolt cap hits the saftey and can not be inserted....
When the saftey is in safe mode it immediately prevents bolt installation completely....
I have tried using the trigger....tried everything...

Do I need to removal the trigger assembly....?

Anyone know how to re-install this thing?

I don't understand how the ''back end bolt cap'' can hit the safety when you say the bolt will not go back in...

Are what you really saying is the bolt goes in part way but will not go all the way forward because the bolt shroud has rotated out of normal operating position...?

If that is the case...

Rotate the bolt shroud so the firing pin is in the cocked position, not the fired position.

On the left side of the action, there is a lever that needs to be pulled open as well to replace the bolt. Same one you opened to remove the bolt. At least my tang safety has one.

Got in back in now. It takes a strong grip and a solid twist to #### the bolt...lots of spring tension in there.
Got it back in and ready to hunt again.

Don't decock the striker with the bolt out of the rifle is always a good start!
