I read your post..... You are looking for an "OEM crossbolt" that goes in that location....... There isn't one...... You are absolutely either looking for an aftermarket part of looking to modify a currently existing one.....
Unless you can show me a rear crossbolt that is available in your rifle model and caliber, an aftermarket part is EXACTLY what you are asking for......
It's pretty simple..... If your rifle came without a cross bolt that should have been there based on factory specs, you have a claim....... If you want an extra bolt that was never intended to come with the rifle and never advertised, then buy it from a parts distributor....... You are barking up the wrong tree if you are looking to pay for non intnded parts at a warranty center.....
Vey simple principle..... Stop screwing around with your guns before you fire them in factory state with factory ammo.......
And stop being so angry...... Life is short and none of us get out alive.....

No. I wouldn't send anything firearms related to any warranty shop in this country. There is a lesson there.
Again. There is no claim for anything. Holy crap! I wanted an OEM Ruger crossbolt.

I have never had to send one back..... And i own several........ And I never buy a rifle expecting to do a bunch of non factory stuff to it...... And I don't hold a warranty center accountable to providing non warranty parts..... Whether I want to pay or not....... It isn't their job.......
Warranty centres are in place to honour warranties and nothing more...... They are not a parts depot....... If you had a legitimate warranty claim, your service would likely have been much better.....
Otherwise, if you want to dink around with your guns and do alterations before you even shoot it, you are on your own and your anger is misplaced.....
Please give me the rear "OEM crossbolt" for your rifle...... Do so, and I will buy it for you free of charge...... Not the "Chuck Nelson feels should be there crossbolt".... The actual OEM crossbolt.....

Did you not contact a warranty center? Asking for a non warranty part?..... Simple yes or no question..... How do we get "warranty" out of the conversation when you want to dink around with your rifle pre-firing and then hold a warranty center accountable?.... They are not parts distributors....
Really simple..... If you felt the design was flawed, then don't buy it....... And if you do, don't expect the warranty center to take care of you for foreign parts in an altered rifle........
As for my experience..... You are correct, I don't buy a rifle expecting to do several mods to it......... Nor should you.... And yet you feel the need to do so and tun butch about it when it doesn't go your way........
I'm not sure if I am missing something - but I believe chuck wanted a factory cross bolt, (same part number as the one used behind the recoil lug on his rifle) that he could install in front of the trigger, behind the mag box.
The Alaskan only has one cross bolt......... It's in the forestock....... Apparently Chuck wants a rearward one...... And thinks the warranty center should provide one......
While Snapshots "IS" a warranty depot, they do also carry and sell non-specific generic parts, such as rings, action screws, stocks etc... BUT, specific parts that are designed for a specific rifle, require the submission of a serial number... the people you talk to are not the gunsmiths that do the warranty work... they operate on schematics of specific rifles... if your serial number calls up a specific schematic and the part you are requesting does not match the parts list, they will NOT provide it... that is a common sense liability issue. If you want to modifiy a gun into a non-factory configuration you go to an aftermarket supplier for the parts and either do the work yourself (and accept the outcome) or find a qualified smith who is willing to do the work and accept the liability for the work.
I have messed around with firearms for 40+ years, doing many involved projects, and have screwed up more than my fair share of firearms... I knew the risks going in, and accepted the outcome... live and learn... I still screw around with firearms, but probably less so than in my intemperate youth... and now, I tend to leave the complex machining to professionals.

First of all, you have already stated here that the Alaskan had no crossbolts. Wrong. Now you state it has one in the forestock. Wrong. You also think I'm seeking warranty repair. Wrong.
What am I missing?
No one is questioning the legitimacy of his claim. But I will tell you emphatically that modifying the existing part will be quicker and much less painful.
