The recent thread about the rsm's has me lusting for the baby brother to the rsm - the express. If you don't know what I'm talking about, they look like a slightly scaled down rsm and came in 270, 30-06, 7rem mag, 300win mag and 338 wm. Anyways, if you have or have had one, let's hear your thoughts - good and bad, and if you're willing, please post a picture.

Here is a picture I pulled off google to get the thread started.

The Express rifles are beauties... the barrel contour is lighter than the RSM'S and the standard action takes weight off also... some of the rifles have amazing circassion walnut... I was not so lucky but the price I paid reflected the bland wood... the rifle carries with good balance... my .30/06 Express has proven to be very accurate and the build quality is amazing by today's standards.

Are the iron sights as good as the RSM?..... An aught six with good quality iron sights like that would be sweet.... And the quarter rib really draws your eyes to them easily.....

Irons are just as good, very quick acquisition. It would be a dandy partner for the RSM I just sent you, but not letting this one go any time soon.

Lol.... Wasn't asking.... Just curious.... I plan to collect the aught six family in the #1 platform when I am done with the M77s.... If I ever get "done with the M77s"... Lol

One sold on the EE for a steal last year, but at the time I wasn't interested - I don't think the seller knew what it was. The 30-06 is the one I want.

I have two standard RS rifles in 7X64 Brenneke and .35 Whelen... Less "beefy" and no quarter rib, with standard walnut stock... I will have a VX-3 3.5-10 in Warne QD rings on the Brenneke (when it arrives) and VX-3 1.5-5 in Warne QD rings on the Whelen... very nice hunting rifles.

I could live with one or the other. If I had a 7x57, the 9.3 would be a fitting rifle to go with it. On the other hand the 35Whelen goes well with my 270Win.

I found an M77 MKII RS African 9.3X62 through a Ruger collector friend in Texas, we are talking now.
