looking to buy a trigger for my 204 Ruger. Just curious on who has purchased one and what there thoughts are on it?
I've got a Spec Tech in my Hawkeye. Nice little trigger. Stainless steel, adjustable, ship to Canada, lifetime guarantee, and to top it all off they are great to deal with.
For a hunting rifle the original factory mass produced Ruger mII trigger is as good as it is unless somebody have custom HB target rifle. With some stoning and spring tension adjustment I was able to lower it to 3lbs or so in both of my Rugers (LH 7-08 & LH 30-06 RCBS Imp) and wouldn't dare to go any lower than that.
Those hunting rifles don't need $200 + instalation "improovements".
I like timney in some applications but put one in the Ruger Mk II. I found it kind of chessey. Does not look as rugged as a Ruger and you have toModify (shorten with a file ) the safety. It works well but if you decide to go back to the original trigger it safety probably would also have to be changed. I would take a close look at all that are available before making a decision.
