Just aquired a Ruger 77 'Predator' in 6.5 Creedmoor. Wondering if anyone has had experience (good or bad) sanding down the contact at the end of the forearm and thus 'free floating' the barrel. Not sure what to do. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Ive read that Rugers are supposed to have a pressure point and free floating it will screw with the accuracy.

My M77 is very accurate (sub MOA at 100 with some factory loads), I dare not mess with it.

I've also read this to be true. However, (just asking) don't you think that free floating a barrel and glass bedding the action can only improve accuracy? I'll tell you, I'm super conflicted on this matter. Should 1" just be good enough? I've had Sako's and Tikka's that have grouped 1/2" so maybe I'm expecting too much from the Ruger. However, the Ruger is a Terrific rifle! ARRGGGH.. Hate to have to flip a coin on this.. lol
