Ruger Mark 1 muzzle brake; rare?

It's a Ruger Mk 1 Factory muzzle brake. I've never seen another or even read of it in Ruger literature.

It's actually much quieter with than with-out; a b-t-h to clean though

Looks like it would work quite well. Ugly but great design. Is that yours? If so, how does it work for you?

Works great. A more exacting shooter would have a better opinion than I perhaps; but like I said " it makes it quieter too"
Kind of an unexpected bonus
Shot hundreds of gophers with it as a youth, LOL(statute of limitations is in effect now). Didn't know it wasn't legal it shoot off range. Heck I got it as a youth as payment for driving tractor for 10 days. I was only 14 so it went in Dad's name.
Shoots awesome at distance too. 1st time shooters can make the "bell ring" really easy

I've never seen or heard of one of those either. My only question is "why?". It's not as though they're loud to begin with, or have a lot of muzzle flip.
Is it rare? I'd have to say yes. Have you posted this over in the Rugerforum?
