Start by making sure the upper and lower are all the way together, Make sure the hammer is in the fired position to get it out of the way, I got caught on this once. And then hold it, gun pointing up, and make sure the hammer strut is going to fall into the right place.Sometimes you have to give it a good shake to get all the pieces to line up. The owners manual has as good as method of dis and reassembly as anything else.

Good Luck After the first few times it gets easier.

Beat the sh*t out of it with a hammer. Really it worked for me.

Make sure the little pin fits in the main spring, then tap it with a rubber hammer into place.

Can someone tell me if my model "Ruger Mark 3 Target Competition Stainless" needs a "firing pin stop" in the bolt? Cause there are none in place. In all the videos that i have watch they talk about this "firing pin stop" but they dont have my pistol same model in all these videos. i have look in the owner manual and the part is showned for all models exept this one.

Thank's

The firing pin stop is part of the bolt - if it is not in place and you dry fire the gun you will be in some trouble. Unless you have disassembled the bolt completely, it *should* still be in place. Assuming you have the manual, go to the exploded view diagram, and it is part 18. If you don't then go here. Diagrams are on Page 39.

Hey Vincent, Thanks for this info. When i pull the bolt out i can actually see the day light where this "firing pin stop" is supposed to be. Im a bit worried so i wrote an e-mail to Ruger USA customer services and here is what they wrote me back;

Response: We used a roll pin for a period of time for the firing pin stop. Roll pins are hollow and give the appearance of being missing. Take the bolt out and remove the recoil spring assembly. Now try to lift the firing pin out of the top of the bolt. The firing pin stop also holds the firing pin in place. If you cannot take the firing pin out, the stop is not missing.

Parts for our Canadian customers must be ordered through our Canadian Repair Station.

I'll try this later on today and will let you know

Glad I could help Mate. Mine is relatively new, so it has solid pin, rather than a roll pin.
You should have no problems replacing it, if need be though. Good luck!
