Ruger Mark II KMK512 VS Ruger 22/45 P45GCMKIII

I have a Ruger MKII KMK512, hogue grips, adjustable sight, 10 mags, Ultimate Cliploader, just a beautiful and fun handgun. Had it for 3 years or so and only complaint is that's it's has a 5 1/2" barrel and a bit heavy.

Ruger 22/45 P45GCMKIII has been getting good reviews, but I'm not too keen on all the new MK III features as magazine disconnect safety and the loaded chamber indicator. I do like the new magazine release placement and the ability to mount optics though. The 4 1/2" barrel is kewl too.

Problem is, I don't want 2 Ruger rimfire handguns only 1. Find that I use 1 and the other one will just collect dust till I sell it off.

So what shall I do? Keep the MKII or go for the MKIII? Keeping both would seem the reasonable answer but that would be 2 easy and the smart thing to do :D

Also can the MK II magazines change over the MK III magazine if you swap baseplates?

Both

I've got a MkII 5.5" bull barrel. Love it. Picked up a NIB MkIII 22/45 with the 4.5" slabside barrel as it's dimensions were close to an actual 1911 [length anyway]. Still haven't fired it but in my estimation both are "keepers".... So, keep your MkII and pick up a MkIII 22/45... ;)

Didn't you have a scope on the Ruger MKII KMK512? That was a sweet set up......if I remember correctly. Pics? Sell the Ruger 22/45......or sell them both and buy another Glock:evil:

That was my KMK678 with the Leupold and I sold it...or did I trade it  Anyways it's gone. I was incredibly boring to shoot as it hit everything with uninterrupted accuracy. Who needs that? :D

I would keep the MKII.....22/45 is decent but the plastic frame leaves alot to be desired.....very cheap looking and feeling. MKII bull barrel is actually very well balanced. If you want something smaller and lighter, I'd get a used Mk1 standard model with 4.5" taper barrel. MKIII new features just add problems.
