Ruger Mark II KMK512 VS Ruger 22/45 P45GCMKIII
I have a Ruger MKII KMK512, hogue grips, adjustable sight, 10 mags, Ultimate Cliploader, just a beautiful and fun handgun. Had it for 3 years or so and only complaint is that's it's has a 5 1/2" barrel and a bit heavy.
Ruger 22/45 P45GCMKIII has been getting good reviews, but I'm not too keen on all the new MK III features as magazine disconnect safety and the loaded chamber indicator. I do like the new magazine release placement and the ability to mount optics though. The 4 1/2" barrel is kewl too.
Problem is, I don't want 2 Ruger rimfire handguns only 1. Find that I use 1 and the other one will just collect dust till I sell it off.
So what shall I do? Keep the MKII or go for the MKIII? Keeping both would seem the reasonable answer but that would be 2 easy and the smart thing to do
Also can the MK II magazines change over the MK III magazine if you swap baseplates?
